My vodka sauce is a great beginner recipe because it requires minimal ingredients, simple cooking techniques, and its creamy texture and subtle flavors make it forgiving for those just starting out in the kitchen.
Pesce Acqua Pazza is a great recipe if you're looking to try something new because of its flavorful combination of fish, tomatoes, garlic, and herbs cooked in a light broth offers a delightful taste of Italian cuisine with a simple yet sophisticated twist.
I do not focus on a specific diet here because I do not follow one. Eat what you love in moderation - balance is key! You'll see the nutritional information on each recipe, so choose the recipe best fit for you!
Hailing from St. Louis and a graduate of Bradley University, I dedicated 12 years to the entertainment industry within various theme parks until the pandemic-induced closures led to layoffs. I resolved to pursue entrepreneurship, drawing inspiration from cherished moments spent cooking with my Grandma, though many of her recipes have been lost to time. Thus, I embarked on creating a blog centered around recreating my beloved childhood dishes, not only for the enjoyment of my family but also to share them with you!
In 2022, I tied the knot with my husband, Kevin, and welcomed our first daughter, Zealand, into the world. Just 19 months later, our second daughter, Capri, joined our family. Life is bustling with two young children, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else!
Apart from my passion for cooking and spending time with family, I have a deep love for travel. I've explored countless cities across the United States and ventured to numerous countries in Europe, with Italy holding the top spot as my all-time favorite destination.
With my Sicilian heritage deeply ingrained in both my grandmother's lineage and my own DNA, I hold a profound connection to Sicilian cuisine. Fond memories of my Grandma's culinary creations, such as stuffed artichokes, beef spedinis, and raviolis, are forever etched in my mind, accompanied by a generous bowl of Parmesan cheese on the table, ready to be sprinkled with a large spoon. I treasure these moments dearly and strive to evoke the essence of my Grandma through my recipes, inviting you to share in the warmth and flavor of her legacy.
