Hi! My name is Meghan. I am the recipe developer, writer, and food photographer over here at Meghan It Up. My favorite part of the job is definitely making it up in the kitchen and creating new recipes and learning as I go.
Meghan It Up started in March, 2020 as an Instagram account, where I shared what I was whipping up in the kitchen everyday. Our home was under a full remodel when Covid hit and sent my husband and I to work from home. We spent 3 weeks locked in our bedroom with 2 dogs and all of our belongings as the workers (thankfully!) continued to finish the work. We were newly engaged (February 2020) and I finally had a kitchen I felt like I could share my culinary adventures in. As 2020 continued on and I was furloughed and ultimately laid off, I decided now was the time to pursue my dreams of being a home cook.
My first blog post went up Summer 2020 but my cooking journey started long before. I have been cooking and watching cooking shows with my grandma before I could barely reach the counter. My grandmother was Sicilian and made homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner. She was an incredible cook and I fully attribute my love of cooking to her.
As time went on I decided to share my second passion with you - WINE! So here we are. I'm creating and sharing simple recipes using whole and fresh ingredients and also offering up my best recommendation for a wine pairing!

ABOUT THE BLOG
Here you will find a wide variety of simple savory recipes (with some sweets thrown in from time to time.) From easy weeknight meals to homemade bread, MIU has something for everyone. Using fresh, in season, whole ingredients to help you get the best bang for your buck and keeping a stocked pantry is my thing!
As for the wine, I love California and Italian wines and recommend a wide variety in price range so there is something for everyone to enjoy!
I do not focus on a specific diet here because I do not follow one. Eat what you love in moderation - balance is key! You'll see the nutritional information on each recipe (it's mostly there for google purposes) so choose the recipe best fit for you!
Whether you are a beginner in the kitchen or a professional chef, my recipes are for you! They are easy to follow, delicious recipes that the whole family will enjoy!
You might also find travel recommendations, winery recommendations, and some blog posts as well.
