I think a platter of freshly cooked and chilled shrimp is about as festive as it gets. You can also serve these warm, but I like to make them in advance.
Mains
Most Feast of the Seven Fishes dinners have one thing in common - carbs! Typically pasta, but this year I've changed it up and added couscous and rice in addition to pasta.
Seared Scallops with Citrus Couscous
This is such a great way to use winter citrus and brighten up the table but if you don't like citrus you could leave it out.
Baked Salmon Arancini
Easy to make ahead and a fun twist on the classic Sicilian recipe; it's also a great way to use tinned fish.
Pasta with Tuna
This is an essential Feast of the Seven Fishes recipe at our table; it's so flavorful and simple to make!
Sautéed Garlic Mussels with Spaghetti
Another great pasta dish full of flavor! You can also serve this sans pasta (but who wants that!)
Dessert
Although these are not made with fish, these are some of my family favorite Sicilian American family dessert recipes.
These are fried balls of dough coated in a honey and orange syrup and decorated with sprinkles and hazelnuts, you can also add any topping you like!
Sicilian Christmas Sugar Cookies
These non-peril sprinkles are so essential in Sicilian baking and they bring back so many fond memories.
A rich and easy dessert to make and serve as is, but I recommend serving with warmed wine or with ice cream (or both!)
