Yes, you can customize the fruits based on your preference or what's in season. Fruits like pineapple, strawberries, or even bananas can work well with the pound cake and apricot jam glaze.
Absolutely! If you don't have access to an outdoor grill, you can use a grill pan or an indoor electric grill to achieve similar results. Just make sure to preheat it well and cook the skewers over medium heat.
These skewers are best served warm, right off the grill. They can be enjoyed on their own as a dessert or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
๐ฅฃ Storage & Reheating
Storage: Store any leftover grilled stone fruit skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Reheating: To reheat, gently warm the skewers in a microwave or oven until just heated through, being careful not to overcook the fruit.
Freezing: It's not recommended to freeze grilled stone fruit skewers as the texture of the fruit and cake may become mushy when thawed.
๐ท Wine Pairing
A suitable wine pairing for grilled stone fruit skewers with pound cake and apricot jam could be a late-harvest Riesling. Its sweetness complements the caramelized flavors of the fruit and cake, while its acidity balances the sweetness of the dish, enhancing the overall dining experience.
